Visit by 9 high school students from Gifted Education Institute in Seoul

A delegation of 9 students from Gifted Education Institute in Seoul visited Kyoto University, Uji Campus on August 8, 2006, accompanied by two staff members. The group was headed by Mr. Kim Chul Bae, Educational Researcher of Seoul Science Park. Gifted Education Institute in Seoul screens its intake from the highest level students and places emphasis on the education of mathematics and the natural sciences.
They toured the Solar Power Station/Satellite Laboratory (Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere) and Research Center on Landslides (Disaster Prevention Research Institute) and were specifically interested in microwave power transmission and landslide.
This is the second time such a group has visited Uji Campus.
